An injunction against harassment is an order by the Court prohibiting one person from contacting one or more other persons. The restriction regarding contact can inlcude contact in person, in writing, by telephone and/or electronically and can also order that person to turn in all firearms and not to come to specified locations. The Order is good for one year and the person against whom it is entered may request a hearing to contest the Order any time during that year.

"Harassment" is defined as a series of acts over any period of time that is directed at a specific person and that would cause a reasonable person to be seriously alarmed, annoyed or harassed and the conduct in fact seriously alarms, annoys or harasses the person and serves no legitimate purpose. In Tucson, the City, Justice and Superior Courts all deal with these injunctions. To obtain one you would go to the clerk at the court to obtain a Petition. You would fill it out under oath and would then go before a judge who would read what you have written and ask you questions prior to deciding whether or not to grant the Petition. I regularly represent folks in these matters and would be happy to assist you whether you are the plaintiff or the defendant. There are also injunctions against workplace harassment, governed by similar rules. I also handle these cases.
